Apart from being a great way to get our bodies moving and helping us to become more flexible, yoga offers a great number of hidden benefits that you may not have been aware of, for example the practice(when i say practice, I mean routinely) of yoga can help to reduce mental, physical, and emotional problems: which many of us may face in our daily lives such as headaches, back and neck pain, low energy, emotional mood swings, fibromyalgia, anxiety, insomnia, depression to name but a few.Yoga is a great way to get sweating and stretch our joints and massage our organs helping to detoxify the body. Yoga helps us to regulate blood circulation essential for flushing unwanted toxins from the body, helping us feel healthier and more lively. In Yoga there is a great emphasis put on our breath, its rythm and its strength. Something we often take it for granted as a natural almost unconscious process, Yoga invites us to become aware of this vital process,to explore it and to become aware of it´s full potential . The fact is many of us are not using our breath to its full potential, shallow breaths do not allow for all the cells in the body to be properly oxygenated(this can lead to a great number of health issues)and encouraging us to remember how to breath properly could be one of the greatest benefits Yoga can offer its practitioners. Breathing properly allows us to be focused ,to be still , it allows us to listen to our own bodies enabling us to prevent emotional and physical problems.
